Monthly Billing Cycle Guidelines

Procedures:

  1. Make sure the account information for all active accounts is updated in READy Manager to match the current information contained in the billing software to account for new meter installations and/or meter replacements.

  2. Verify the customer information imported into READy Manager from the billing software is successful. If there are any errors when importing the customer information into READy, please contact ETEC staff for troubleshooting assistance.

  3. Next, add any new meters that were recently imported into READy to the appropriate group that is utilized by the meter reader when performing the drive-by readings. (The meter reading device will not capture a reading for meters that are not included in the group being utilized by the meter reader)

  4. Confirm the meter reader has selected “Send/Receive” in the READy App. on the tablet to transfer the latest information from READy Manager on your PC to the tablet.

  5. Next, the meter reader can perform the drive-by readings for the system.

  6. After finishing the drive-by readings, confirm the meter readers have selected “Send/Receive” to transfer the captured readings back to READy Manager on the office PC.

  7. Verify all readings have been captured by going to the group that was read in READy Manager on the office PC and confirming all meters have a current reading date.

  8. If there are meters that do not have a current reading date, create a new group, add those meters to the new group created, and have the meter reader perform drive-by readings on the newly created group that only include those specific meters.)

  9. Once it is confirmed that all readings have been captured, export the readings from READy Manager and save the file to desktop.

  10. Import the saved file into the billing software to review and prepare for billing.


KEY NOTES:

  1. Prior to Reading Meters - Export customer file with all active customers from your billing software and save the file on your desktop in a place that will be easy to locate.

  2. Login to READy Manager and select “Import Customers” located on the home page.

  3. Browse and Select the customer file that was exported from your billing software and saved to your desktop.

    1. Make sure to always update customer account information in the Billing Software for new meter installations or meter change outs.
